If you are reading this and actually have a chance at a better school, but are considering SJSU due to the lower cost (as I did), I'd like to also advice that you pay more to go somewhere else. I went to the business school, and it is useless. Perhaps 10 years ago it was better, but when I went (2 years ago), it was crumby and outdated. As I found out through self-study, most of what I was taught was irrelevant, meanwhile schools in Asia are teaching top-notch information. Be careful. I don't know anyone who graduated in 4 years btw. Everyone took 5-6 years, some 7 or 8 (full time). The additional cost for the extra 1-2 years (they will not allow you to take more than 12-14 units per semester, despite the 4-year plan needing up to 18 units per semester) is worth graduating on time from a university with a good reputation. SJSU goes on and on about being the "silicon valley" school because all they have is location (they are located in the ghetto of SJ so expect to get mugged or raped btw). They have zero ranking. It's pathetic. I write this because the youth of today deserve better than this run-down school! Senior class in the business department btw, 95% of my classmates looked crushes, their spirits broken. Dead eyes compared to the freshmen. It's because SJSU breaks its students. Avoid!!! |
Major: Business - Management and Administration (This Major's Salary over time)
San Jose State is not Sanford and not Berkeley, duh; but if you're reading this you clearly have no chance of getting in to Stanford or Berkeley anyhow. San Jose State is a great place to receive a respected business degree and start your career. As most will find out, the school you went to has little to do with your ultimate success in business anyhow. Don't take this as a qualification however, San Jose State's teachers are extremely capable and understand the "real" world a little better than most college professors.
