Major: Computer Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
I dislike UCI because it's a big commuter school, and the lack of passion that people have in Computer Engineering.Curriculum-wise (for Engineering), I can't see that big a discrepancy between UCI, UCD, and UCSD. I've looked at course syllabi and talked to friends. I believe that you can get the same quality education in these three schools. The tests may be harder, or the courses setup differently, but the subject matter is similar enough that you just need the desire to learn.I would actually recommend Math or ICS, because I know some good faculty (teaching-wise) in those departments. Electrical and/or Computer Engineering seems more into research. On that same note, it doesn't seem overly difficult to get into research here.UCI is not the most prestigious of schools, but you can relax a little (as far as classes go) and get some extracurriculars and research done. You just have to take the initiative.
