Academically, i really really think that Vassar can give you an education comparable to that of an ivy league school. The faculty often have narrow specializations but the professors REALLY CARE and will do just about anything that you ask of them. Classes are generally TINY so you can participate as much as you want and get as much as you can out of them. or not. it's up to you.Socially i was not as impressed with Vassar. It is a VERY SMALL school, which made me a little claustrophobic. You WILL run into people you know no matter where you are on campus or what you are doing. I.e. if you are extremely drunk and want to stumble back home in peace, forget it. It's easy there to lose perspective and let all the petty Vassar gossip and scandals take over your life.I highly recommend doing one of the junior year abroad programs… a nice chance to leave the vassar bubble, take a good look at yourself and come back refreshed and ready to tackle senior year!
