Date: Sep 01 2004 Major: Philosophy (This Major's Salary over time) Vassar was worth every penny I had to borrow. Law school was a breeze (if not a waste of time) after the rigors of Vassar. Studying philosophy has helped me in countless ways, not the least of which was helping to make law school simple. Socially, Vassar was fun. I enjoyed attending a variety of lectures offered throughout the college, and I enjoyed attending the campus bar on a routine basis (but the drinking age was 18 at the time, so one's fake ID better be in order these days. Going to a school with so many women in positions of authority was an unexpected bonus. Basically, I talk up Vassar whenever I get a chance and throw down money to the Annual Fund, to the Philosophy Dep't lecture series, whatever. A lot of money may get "wasted", spent on campus beautification, a bottle of wine for a visiting scholar, but never have I felt that any money lined the pockets of those in charge (in contrast to my law school). Vassar is really about getting a kick ass education and having a good time too.
