What can I say? I love Macalester! Who wouldn't? Awesome students, great international community, accessible professors, beautiful campus, and an incredible surrounding community! It is a very politically active community. If you think you're liberal now…you won't at Mac. Be sure to get to know people soon, making connections will really help on a weekend night if your friends are out of town. Also, if you want to get to know international students, get to know them. Go out of your way, because they tend to hang out together. I was really struck by how intelligent everyone was here! It was a breath of fresh air, but also a little frightening. Luckily, everyone is supportive and not the least bit cutthroat! It's really easy to get involved in extra-curricular activities. Be careful not to get over involved! You need time to do homework too! Every day while my friends and I are walking to class, we always remark about how much we love this school and how we couldn't see ourselves anywhere else!
