Date: Oct 18 2004 Major: PreLaw and Legal (This Major's Salary over time) I can only speak as a law school graduate. Miami has a very good law school. It is top rated (top 10 among all law schools) in tax and estate planning, but some other specialties are very good. Miami is the big fish in South Florida. This gives an edge to kids who want to work or intern in South Florida. The school gets a lot of support from Alumni in both cash and in job offers.I thought that as a bright NY kid, I would have an easy time with the school and date some of the fabulously attractive undergraduates. Was I in for a surprise, The law school is a LOT of hard work. We really didn't have time for dating untill year 2 of law school. There were a lot of "get to gethers" with med school folks and other parties around. Social life was quite good starting in the second year.Faculty, for the most part, were quite good and knowledgable. Many were in private practice and brought a good deal of practicality to the coursesI liked the on campus food. Maybe it's me. However, there were a lot of offcampus restaurants that were great. Miami doesn't suffer from a lack of varied or quality cuisine. The library had the latest stuff and was well stocked. This is important for lawyers since a library to a lawyer is what a lab is to a scientist. It is very important. All in all, University of Miami Law School was great. I would recommend it to anyone interested in law.
