I transferred here in August coming from two years at Fayetteville State University (a place in which I managed to not fit in) looking for a fresh start in my life. I have succeeded in that goal. I've met lots of new people here and the freindships and accquatinces I have made will stick with me for a long time. This school also has the best Professional Golf Management program in the country if I'm not mistaken, and the Business program here is top-notch. Classes are small and the individual attention that you get here is very helpful. Athletics here at MC are also top notch for the most part. Now for the negative. This school is a suitcase school on the weekends and the students remaining usually go to house parties, the same three bars every weekend, or sit it their dorms and whine because that is not a whole lot to do at night. Student activities is struggling but that is being dealt with so that will improve. They do have some great late night alternative programs on Wed. night sometimes. Please come here if you are a hot girl because you are in huge demand here and you will have a boyfreind in a second. This school is so male-dominated, it is a joke. The retention rate is terrible-about 70%-because of the strict dorm rules (although I havent had a issue with them yet)and various other issues. If you come here and if a new mandatory soph. residence rule falls through due to lack of space, move off-campus your second or third year. It's the in-thing to do and it's less expensive. And there is some distrust between the staff/administration and the students. But this is an excellent school if you want to major in PGM or business or seek a fine liberal arts education or have that small-school feel. Just be prepared to pay 100 bucks if you are caught with booze on campus, high tuition (although afforable for a private school), a dearth of women, and if you are an athlete, general apathy from the student body. And, I repeat, please come if you are a cute girl!
