There are some very great things about Loyola. Beautiful campus, amazing city with unlimited opportunities to learn and grow. Decent gym & pool. Most of my classes were really great, particularly the Interdepartmental Honors freshman courses (definitely take these if you can!) I had some amazing professors and all of them were very smart and knowledgable. Smaller class sizes, overall strong academics. However, there is no social life, amazing restrictions on dorm life (ie, you must check in guests and they must leave by midnight on school nights). The adminstration and paper-pushers are rude and extremely unhelpful…its near impossible to get a question answered without extended effort on your part.I like the Jesuit tradition and there are many great opportunities for volunteering. Chicago is bitterly cold in the winter and tuition is rather steep and finaid packages rather small. I went there my freshman year and then transfered. Sometimes, I really miss Loyola, especially the academics. But I don't miss the cold or the unfriendly people (really hard to make friends)
