Carleton is amazing, but it is a very small and very closed community. The social situation can be strange and upsetting sometimes because of rampant gossip, but it also forges wonderful friendships. Every college will tell you that if you slacked off in high school, you won't get away with it at college. Let's be honest, this probably isn't true for giant state university intro classes. But believe me, everyone at Carleton was the smart kid in their class. You can't pull the same stuff here in high school; you're going to be held accountable.
