I never joined a frat or anything, but I have made great friends here. You don't need to be greek to have a good time at all, in fact, most the people who I talk to who have already graduated regret doing so. More than half of the student body isn't greek anyway. I'm not a party dude, but some of the best ones I have attended were thrown by people not in the greek system. The Rugby team rented out a downtown club and hired a dj, plus had about 20 kegs. Everyone was invited!! Put a lot in and you will recieve a better education here than any of the state schools such as UT or A&M. My friends are from all different backgrounds. Sure a lot of people here resemble the really preppy kids from high school, but you will hardly ever encounter anyone unfriendly. Everyone seems to be willing to help eachother out. The football team sucked this year, which didn't help campus spirit, but they are suppost to improve next year, plus we will be in a new confrence with much more difficult opponents. Usually around 30,000 - 40,000 people attend the football games. Not bad for a school with only 9,000 students. The business school is among the top in the nation. The rec center beats any regular gym you could become a member of (like 24 hour fitness). Classes for the most part are challenging, there are some shitty profs, just like at any university, but work hard and you will do fine. You'll meet some people that are here for the soul purpose of partying, and if thats your avenue, go right ahead. However, don't expect much respect in the real world after graduation. The University is well kept, you wont see trash on the ground for more than 10 seconds, a golf cart will swing by and pick it up. There are roses and trees everywhere. Parking sucks, a lot of people complain about that. But overall, come here with an open mind and work hard in your classes, get involved and you'll have a blast.
