Hood College does not take advantage of its proximity to Frederick City's downtown area. With plenty of activities, events, stores, restaurants, and job opportunities, the downtown area is an underused resource for work and recreation for Hood's students. Nor is the college and all it has to offer well known to Frederick City residents.

Hood College's professors are of the highest quality. They are readily available for help with coursework, as well as personal mentoring. They are not only advisors, but become genuine friends to students.
