Major: Engineering Department (This Major's Salary over time)
To be frank, Stevens was actually my last choice school. However, I could not have been happier being a student here. Stevens has everything you need where you need it. If you need mentoring, go to the main building (Howe). If you need help with academics, social life, or anything, just go to Howe. The education is, for our first year, basically the same in most colleges that have or specialize in engineering programs. However, what I think makes Stevens different from most colleges in the US is the closeness that a student can have with their professor. The professors are always willing to help and seem to always be available when you need them. Even though some of the homework can be redundant, and some of the tests can be hard, the quality of the education that we receive is nothing short of top notch. If you are reading this and still lack incentive, New York City is openly accessible to you when you need it. While Hoboken is extremely active day and night and is perfect for romantic moments or just plain "hanging out", nothing beats having the availability and openness of New York there. While the courseload might prevent one from just going into the city at any time, the cirriculum is set up to allow enough free time. However, not everything is great about Stevens. One of the biggest problems I've noticed on campus is the condition of some of the dormitories. While some dorms are very well kept and organized, some others lack the same privilege. Also, the food here is certainly not the greatest, so prepare to spend a lot of money eatng at night (TAKE A GYM COURSE!).Overall, if you really want to be an engineer, this is a great school to consider. It really does deserve the high ranks and prestige it has.By the way, if you really want a good laptop to have, then that is a good reason to come here too.
