This place is a sorry excuse for a university, if you can even call it that. The support staff here are unhelpful, clueless, and have a very high and might attitude about the school that is completely unjustified. Forget about transferring any credits here, UofL will absolutely not take them, and they like it that way. They just want you here as long as possible to get more money from you. The teachers do not care about you, only about their research. A lot of classes taught by TA's, a lot of teachers do not speak very good English as well. The school also worries way too much about sports, mainly men's basketball and football. I guess they think if they are successful the school itself will magically change, since it's all they care about. Instead of getting more teachers, having more classes, etc., they build practice facilities and other meaningless facilities that 99% of the students will never use. I realize most other Div 1A schools do the exact same thing, but it doesn't make it any better. As for The students, well, it just feels like high school all over again. The students have their little cliques and no one dares steps outside of them. Most students go to class here and then immediately leave, and the only way to get involved on campus or meet any friends on campus is thru the greek system. Even though they don't make up the vast majority of the campus, they control it. If you are not greek, you will have no friends and you will feel like an outsider here. If you come from out of state, you will feel like an outsider because for the most part everybody here comes from the Louisville area schools and already knows each other, and are not interested in making any new friends. Very closeminded student body, not a lot of stimulating discussion with other students or professors. As for social life, campus is dead after 5 p.m., only adult night students will be on campus. Overall, do not waste your time like I have here, you will be glad you did. I only came here because I am from Louisville and didn't have the money to go anywhere else, and that is why most people end up here. I am currently in the process of transferring, something I wish I had done a year or two back. If you are looking for a good education but want to stay in the Louisville or surrounding area, do yourself a favor, go to UK or IUS. UofL is a joke of a school
