Major: Biology (This Major's Salary over time)
I am a biology major in my third year here at Ualbany. I enjoy my time here at the University and would choose here again if I had it all to do over. I'll start with some of the negatives. All schools are going to have something that you don't like about them. The food here is terrible. No variety, cold, always running out of everything, just awful. It is a big school, which for some is not good, but I enjoy the amount of diversity on campus. Students either love or hate the appearence of the campus. I personally love it and accept it as unique and interesting. My advice would be to take a tour before deciding to really get a feel for the campus. There safety issue is a big one aswell. Albany is a big city with crime. But if you have common sense there is no reason to be concerned. On to the positives… There are many oppurtunities for a biology major here. My advice is to get involved in research immediatly. There are good and bad professors here, just like at any other university on the planet, so talk to others in your classes to find out the bad ones. There is so much to do here it is great. If you like sports there are intramurals and clubs for almost every sport. There are more interesting clubs than you could ever have enough time to join. If you like to party there are frat and house parties every weekend. If you like to go out, there are a ton of clubs and bars. College is what you make of it, so if Ualbany looks good to you I would highly recomend it.
