if you are gay you will love MHC. If you are straight its a bit harder. I'm a senior trust me I know. You need to have a car if you want to come here, you always need to have an available exit plan which will also act as your destresser. if you don't have a car it is a 45minute trip to the nearest walmart, or you have to rely on public safety to take you to the mall twice a week. you can take the bus to north hampton or amherst for free. if you are staright amherst is where you want to go to meet other staright pple, amherst coll or UMASS. unfortunatly you need to watch out they are all well aware of the strong legacy of desperte mount holyoke women!

We do indeed become desperate, we date all that is male, from the cooks, to public safety, to the UMass frat boyz. the women who choose not to go down that road take a different turn, a study done by someone quotes that around 70% of MHC women are lesbian or bisexual during their time at mount holyoke. 5 years later that same class was sampled and only 30% of them considered themselves to be lesbian or bisexual. I guess you could say we have a little bit of what you can call 'the prison effect'.

So why do straight people stay? the academics are great, you are pushed to challenge and discover yourself in a very supportive environment, our facilities and resources are amazing our career development center will fully support you when you embark on a summer internship wherever in the world you chose to do it. ( i mean in terms of housing and food) if you need more money there are fellowships that can be applied for. we have money you just need to convince them that your project will be academically beneficial to you and voila you shall be financed. the campus is beautiful everyone tells you that over and over again, but it is. and MHC women go far, especially in the private sector.

If you are ready to make huge personal sacrifices for a quality education and a wonderful oppurtunity to discover your potential. then mount holyoke is not a bad place to be. i think it would just be easier on you all if you know what you are getting into. if you are gay, come one over MHC will be heaven for you.
