This school is heaven. As soon as you step on campus you feel as though you are at a resort. Many students here say that they live where others go on vacation which is so true. My only advice for those choosing to attend UM is that they should rush a fraternity or sorority because even though only a small percentage of campus is involved, it's where all the fun is. You need to have a lot of Cane spirit and pride to go here and if that's something you don't see yourself getting into then I don't suggest this school. This is a party school but the students pride themselves on the fact that they can party hard (probably harder than most schools as we are right next to South Beach) but also get good grades and get their work done. If you're someone who might be lured into the party scene a little too easily then this isn't the school for you as the proximity of South Beach makes slipping a little tooo deep into the party atmosphere very easy. I love this school and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Also know that UM is a school where the student body is very concerned with the way they look and dress and if that's the type of thing you want to get away from.. then once again… don't go here. So basically I suggest this school to social, intelligent party animals who care about their appearance.
