VASSAR SUCKS. I'm transferring, and i wouldn't recommend this school to Osama's niece. that bad. truly. Being straight and female, with mostly male friends in high school, i was disturbed to find that this school was filled with extremely competitive females. half the people i met quickly became coke addicts (or worse.) and everyone judged you if you didn't want to go dancing at the shitty ass "club" in the basement of the sandwhich shop. LAME. i didn't meet anyone who didn't judge my character by what shoes i was wearing. The student body is inactive, whiney, and above all BORING. everyone tries so hard to be different i realized that different is NOT getting wasted at room parties or going topless to "The Mug." i hope these suckers fail in the real world, because that's what happens when you don't take any math and spend half your day playing fashion police in the ACDC.

questionNow that you've transferred, are you still so down on Vassar? My other choice is Haverford.
commentSurprised to see not much has changed. I graduated 10 years ago and it sounds exactly the same as it was then. The place is a rich-kid highschool where it is fashionable to pretend to be poor but have wealthy vices like coke addiction and the sort. To be fair, there are some good kids in the mix, but not enough to have a social scene dominated by anything other than brooklyn hipster wannabes.
responseLol. It can definitely feel this way. The truth is you notice yourself judging other people for judging you. Maybe they aren't even judging you and it's all in your head. If you're secure enough with yourself, you can let it go, but that can be difficult when it's cold and classes are stressful and you see the same people every day. Keep you head up though, you can form some incredible friendships.
commentThe "brooklyn hipster" scene is awesome. SO MUCH fun. and academics are great. You'll definitely have fun your first two years. It might be a little stale your third (but that's what study abroad is for). By your fourth year you're gonna enjoy it because you know soon it will be gone. I've been to other schools; vassar was special. most 18 yr old wont realize

responseI am Vassar Class of 1993 and there aren't enough words in the language to describe what spoiled, sanctimonious, far-left drug-sniffing, Mommy and Daddy's trust-fund assholes go to that fucking place. The gold-plated hellhole, I called it and so it was…Peter C. Smernoff, class of 1993 (God help me!!!).
