I was rushed through the application process by the admissions counselor so that he could get me "enrolled" and after one week of accessing the UOP website and not learning anything and having no instruction they are sticking me with a bill of $445. I can justify the user fee of $75 for using their site but 25% of tuition???? As mentioned before - it's a big business and nothing more. Taking advantage of working adults in this country and not fully explaining anything. Just sign your name on the dotted line to a total of about $28,000. I withdrew from UOP and am going back to community college to finish my AA degree and then will transfer to a local state university. I will be able to finish my AA, get my BA and my Masters for a lot less than UOP wanted to charge me for a BA degree and I will have actual instruction and actually learn something. I guess it's like the old saying goes - you can buy a degree anywhere if you have the money. The financial counselor is harrassing me and threatening me with collections if I don't cough up the $445. If I had that kind of money laying around I would not have applied for financial aid. The drop deadlines were NOT explained. I only accessed their site for one week when I decided it was too much money to pay for me to teach myself. Not to mention, the instructor was on the other side of the world - probably military or something and was not even instructing. Just posting some comments when he had time to get online. This is a pure joke. I have reported them to the Florida Department of Education and am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. Institutions like this need to be stopped from taking advantage of the unsuspecting.
