Major: Biology (This Major's Salary over time)
I graduated last year and have enjoyed my time in the biology department. I would recommend it to anybody that is interested in wildlife biology. The class sizes are small and there is a strong focus on getting out in the field with most classes involving some type of hands on work. I also noticed that there is a strong focus in getting the students involved with research and internships. On the negative side, some of the core classes tend to be offered infrequently and often in conflicting time slots. Also don't let the fact that SOSU isn't one of the bigger universities in the state discourage you as the amount of research equipment the university has for field research puts larger universities such as OU to shame. Another positive, is that the professors are friendly and most students in the conservation department are there because they are interested in biology not just prevet/ premed. So if your considering Southeastern, go, you won't regret it .
