Major: Art & Design Department (This Major's Salary over time)
The school is SMALL!!! Be prepared and looking forward to incorporating yourself into a small group, relatively speaking. DC is a GREAT city for young people! There is so much to do and to learn in the city, not to mention the world class museums that offer SO much to art students. Corcoran students throw hilarious and fun, good-natured parties and get-togethers. Everyone seems to take themselves just seriously enough. The faculty is wonderful (there are a few that are not that great, but that happens everywhere) and all the teachers are very approachable. The Corcoran is a great place for you to do your own thing, I was told constantly my first year if there was something I wanted to do or get done that the school had the resources and willingness to let that happen. Now, the facilities aren't world class and you will encounter some limitations in this regard. BUT, this, if anything, forces you to be even MORE creative to get done what you want to, and it prepares you for the real world.
