RATT Institute is the leading professional college of art, design, architecture, and creative writing.  Located just 25 minutes from Manhattan, Pratt is a residential 25-acre tree-lined campus. Most students live on campus in one of five residence halls.

Pratt students have known since they were young that they like to draw, paint, build things, or write.  If you are one of these students, I hope you'll take a minute to take our campus tour at www.pratt.edu/campus/tour and check out the student work at www.pratt.edu/schools. While Pratt and New York City can be intimidating, they quickly become inspirational once you are a student in this city that is the center of the art world.

Pratt offers a BFA in fifteen different areas of art and design including fashion and art history, a B.Arch, the 5-year accredited degree, and a BFA in creative writing, called Writing for Publication, Performance, and Media. A new major called Critical and Visual Studies explores culture from a social sciences perspective.  We also offer graduate programs in art, design, architecture, library science, art history.

The difference between Pratt's curriculum and that of most liberal arts colleges is that students take courses in their chosen fields right from the freshman year. That gives students an advantage of two extra years of professional educaiton.

Students at Pratt make important connections with industry through their faculty and through junior year internships.

To read about Pratt's majors, go to www.pratt.edu/schools. To receive a catalog, go to www.pratt.edu/admiss/request.
