Well to start things off on a positive note, the campus is absolutely gorgeous. The amenities the school offers are top notch, (light up maps, accessibility to food courts, water fountains, outdoor activities, and recreation centers) are to name a few. But to really brag about the physical aspects of the campus is really pathetic, because the social environment is what college really is all about. When I arrived at UAlbany I kept an open mind about things in terms of the people there. I have to tell you folks that being there felt as if I was sucked into Barbie paradise. I would have to say that an overwhelming majority of the girls there were extremely obnoxious, tanorexic snobs. College is about creating your own identity, but let me tell you that being a clone rather than an individual holds more self importance there. In terms of the guys, well they're generally boring and predictable. They consume their minds with drinking and partying everyday day of the week and dedicate little effort into their education, from what I can tell. If I'm not feelin' Albany the first semester, I'm transffering the heck out of there. I will give albany more a a chance since these were only observations from orientation. My advice to those attending albany this semester is to join as many activities and clubs as you possibly can. You'll instantly meet new people and make friends, but you have to make the effort. If you really want to fit in easily amongst these soon- to- be college drop outs, go the tanning salon and age the hell out of your skin. You'll probably risk yourselves at a higher rate of skin cancer, but hey, putting crap on your bodies will surely help you get noticed by your like-minded peers. Just be yourself, and if by any chance you do feel inhibited, go to a university filled with students who care about their futures, like Binghamton. I will be the judge if I choose to stay or not.
