I spent a year at Johnson and Wales before transfering to Boston University. I really didn't like being at JWU. I was in hotel management. Sure, you get a good technical education in the field with some good experience and job opportunities, but the general academics are a joke. I had teachers who just gave out A's for no reason. One time, there wasn't enough time for me to give my huge presentation, so the prof tell me he will just give me an A for it. That is not how college is supposed to work. What I liked the least about the school was the intellectual ability of the students. Far too many were not very bright at all, yet did nothing to improve their situations. They just partied every single day of the week. By the way, I have never seen a group of kids so obsessed with drugs. I couldn't go a single night without bumping into someone who is high. Maybe it is just me. Maybe I hated the school because I was the one who was out of place. I assume this is the case because I absolutely love it here at Boston University. Johnson and Wales was like an extension of high school for kids who don't work hard enough to get anything done. Like I said, good technical preparation to work in a hotel, but that was about it. Not enough intellectual stimulus or challenge. If you consider yourself a bright student, don't waste your time here.
