The community at Wheaton, combined with its excellent faculty is what makes Wheaton a special place. It has a reputation as super-evangelical and conservative, but as a student I believe that the school fosters free-thinking and its students are open-minded. Their beliefs are well though-out. Though most students would call themselves conservatives, you don't have to look hard to find more liberal tendancies. This makes for a great atmosphere: lots of smart, solid Christians with widely varied world views. You learn A LOT outside the lecture hall from deep discussions with friends. There's not much of a party scene (In the traditional sense), but don't worry, you won't be bored. You'll make great friends and have a good time. You will feel comfortable, though challenged, at Wheaton.
