Do NOT go to CUA if you meet any of the following criteria:

1) Extremely Liberal

2) Pro-Choice

3) Actively pro-Gay Rights

4) Pro-feminism

5) Attended a Jesuit school

6) Do not care about having sex outside of marriage.

The school is great in academics and have very knowledgeable faculty that are active in their specialties, but that is where it ends. It is EXTREMELY conservative. Conservative Catholicism is extensively pushed on you (for example, there is a talk on chastity on the Freshman Retreat). (For the men out there, the popular men's Latin service fraternity, Esto Vir is actually an underground for Opus Dei.) Politics is big on campus to the extent that it is likely that walking to the bathroom will cause you to get into a 5 minute political debate. The admissions people lie about student life (i.e. there are social fraternities/sororities). The administration is full of hypocrites (i.e. the Catholic Church has a consistent pro-life mentality, but the school is fine with the death penalty; the Church is pro-labor unions, but the school does not allow its employees to unionize nor even take brakes; Father O' Connell, the president as of this writing, has a $100,000 car with chauffeur and an English butler, even though his order had him take a vow of poverty).

responseIt never ceases to amaze me when people who are for liberal causes, and who should be open to tolerating people of all different viewpoints, criticize the faithful. CUA is a Catholic university. Get over it. If you went to an evangelical christian or eastern rite college you would encounter the same moral teachings, which are based upon biblical principles and the natural law. Despite your high standard test scores, you are a moron. You even rate the Nation's capital an "F". Leave the school. Get a job. Work for your own living instead of expecting your parents to pay your bills you whining, gutless creap.
responseI dont think ALL of that is bad tho…i mean, it depends if you went to a catholic high school. even in public colleges (like the one i go to) i participate in campus minitries and they talk about chasitiy, which i think is a GOOD thing. u mention chastity like it is a disease, something taboo! if u are catholic, i doubt you take ur faith seriously, and shudnt be going to a catholic college.
