Major: Unknown (This Major's Salary over time)
What can I say? I attended PBA for a full year(2006-2007) and it was by far one of the worst times of my life. Let's start with academics: I began as a pre-nursing major(very competitive field). That was all well and good, but the several of the teachers I had were just, to put in nicer terms, scatterbrains! My statisitics teacher would randomly go off on tangents that had nothing to do with the lesson, and hence, wasted our 50 min. class period. What pissed me off even further was hearing from countless other students that he had been reported for these reasons to the administrative heads. But they did freakin' NOTHING about it! That is the story that stands out for me, but if you plan on going to this school, I would suggest checking ratemyprofessors.com. Most faculty for PBA have listings on this site.Oh, but the worst of all…the other students. Granted , I did makem oh, maybe 2 good friends, the whole year I was there. I switched dorms for spring semester, because I couldn't stand most of my suitemates. They tended to be very phony, including the RA, pretending like they really knew and cared about your issues, when they didn't have a damn clue what i was going through. Mostly, all they cared about was laying out and the sun and working on their tans. My second semester was about a million times worse sadly. Again, I was confronted with a phony, i'll-pretend-to-care-about you RA. For example…Toward the endo the semester, I became very sick and had to be hospitalized. After I was finally released, my RA called me to talk to her. She quickly asked how I was, but then proceeded to blast me out about how I hadn't notified her that i had left campus to go to the hospital. First off, she wasn't even at school at the time. Second, like i give a crap about telling her. All i could concentrate on was my immense pain and getting quickly to a hospital. It went on from there…A final word..what you may have read from others is true. Campus is basically deserted on the weekends. Be sure to try to make friends with a commuter student or someone who is within reasonable driving distance from campus, or you may end up with no social life on weekends. And the beach is only fun so many times…On the bright side, I had an AWESOME humanities teacher, Carol Woodfin. She has a great sense of humor and is a superb teacher! One final word of warning. You are required to do 45 hrs of "workship," or community service hours a year. STAY ON TOP OF THIS!!! The deadlines sneak up on you way too quickly!
