I was at PBA for one year and I waa miserable for almost all of it. This sichool turned me into a person i dodn't like, for a period of time. I am normally very easy-0going, get along with all types of people, but I was reduced to screaming and crying to my dad on the phone to get me out of there. I know this may sound a little over the top, but that was my experience. The people i met in my dorms and DEFINITELY the RAs are some of the fakest people I ever met. For example…when i decided to switch dorms for spring semester, my RA approached me. Now, mind you, this girl had not said more than 2 words to me all semester,(no exxageration) and she started on about how much she would miss me, and did i really wana leave, blah, blah, BLAH! It pissed me off so much.
I hafta agree about the food seved in other comments…it is some of the most fattening you will ever eat. I ended up more often than not driving to Publix to get healthier choices, but mostly i did not have tome and lost alot ofweight. One positive aspect was the dress code. In my opinion, it was very lax for a Christian college. One girl in one of my psych classes wore some of the shortest shorts i had ever seen countless times and was never, to my knowledge, reprimanded. At least you can dress comfortably here..i could pretty much wear whatever i felt like, aside from an uncovered bikini while out on the campus. Also, unless you are a freshman, there is no curfew=)Classes and teachers are mainly mediocre…you could do just as well somewhere else. I had better in community college, personally! I had alot of other crap happen to me that made it an especially bad year, but I would DEFINITELY not recommend this school, if you're looking for genuine people to establish quality friendships and a stellar learning environment. One last word on dorms..I was in Johnson 1st semester(horrible except for the sun deck) and Oceanview for 2nd(much newer and for the most part, pleasant to live in) plus ODP is right above the parking garage, so if you are planning on bringing a car to campus..you can access it much easier than if you hafta walk in pouring rain clear across campus. Also its a co-ed(girls on one side, guys on other.
