While no-one out West has heard of B-W, being in medicine, it's really the medical school itself and the residency which determines your standing with other medical professionals.

B-W's education was just about right for me. Later, in medical school at the University of Cincinnati, we had 8 Harvard undergraduates, two of which were at the top of our medical school class, and 2 of which were at the very bottom. The rest were scattered about. I was somewhere in the upper half. I was very prepared but I attribute much of my medical school success to my intervening graduate classes.

Probably the most important thing to realize prior to making a decision about where to attend college, is that you can get a quality education anywhere. Working hard and distinguishing yourself will lead to success no matter where you end up. Lots of people commenting on this website appear to place blame on the school for perceived shortcomings, which are multi-factorial, not the least of which is the attitude of the student.

At B-W, I never had a graduate assistant teach my class. The professors took a genuine interest in me, and were largely responsible for my developing a love of learning, which is still a large part of my life.
