Bob Jones University is like a "stepford wife" factory—turn out students who will adhere to whatever nonsense, predjudice, and bigotry is taught in classrooms and sanctioned from the chapel pulpit.

There are ALOT of rules—no music (except hymns and the like), no physical contact with the opposite sex (even no talking before breakfast and after dinner), no knee exposure for females, etc. Oh yeah—and it is required that you rat out anyone who doesn't follow these rules.

The Jones dynasty has trumped any notion of bringing in new blood or having a competitve search for its presdient ( Bob Jones Sr. named the school after himself and then generations of Bob Jones were bestowed the presidency by themselves ever since (Bob Jones Sr., Bob Jones Jr., Bob Jones III). Obviously one of their priorities has been preserving their rigteous name…

The quality of education is dismal. Thinking and expressing controversial ideas is discouraged, while memorizing lots of dates and "facts" is rewarded. Geesh…

I'm sorry you don't like Bob Jones but i think that it is a great school. Yeah the rules may be to the extreme sometimes but there is a reason why they are like that. Bob Jones bases all the rules on Christian and Biblical views. If you read the Bible and actually study to understand it you will see what God tells us to do so that is why Bob Jones has those rules. There is a reason to everything you just have to find it.
