Major: Undecided (This Major's Salary over time)
I'm an international student from Guilford. I love the campus, it's beautiful small and very earthy. It is true Guilford is not for everyone. Most people are hippies and dress very differently but they are all nice. Social life is a bit boring, and the parties suck…but if you don't like to party you can certainly find a place because there are plenty of us don't.In terms of the service for international students, i don't know much about it but all the international students are enthusiastic and well-rounded, they know a lot about the world. There are many many study abroad programs out there. most of my friends think about studying abroad.Student body is bright, but some of them slack off sometimes. Even some athletes are smart, too. In one of my English writing class I was surprised to learn that the one who always make great argument is a football player. Nothing against them but, some of the reviews state that there's a clear line between students and athletic student.Food is OK, really, just don't buy the full meal plan. But they really need to make the green-leaf(coffee shop) better and cleaner. Professors are all really nice, they encourage you to talk. Some time I deliberately don't talk in class just to see if professors will call on me. But of course some class like accounting, you don't really need to talk…workload depends…my first english teacher was easy but second one was a slave-driver…Usually each class involves a term project. Thus no matter how hard that class is, you can always improve your grade a little bit by planning out your project. There are some "bad" professors, like not great at teaching(like my second english writing teacher, but she's really good one-on-one), some are disorganized, but most of the teacher I took was really hardworking and brilliant. I strongly advise you to research a little bit about the teacher before you choose a class…Their first year program is OK.Library Recourses kinda suck…not may books or peer-reviewed articles are accessible. You may choose to do inter library loan, but i never tried…but it's a 4-storied building and you'll always find a place to be when it comes to exam time.If you like community service, this is definitely the place! People are so devoted! They really really love to help people. About career building, I don't understand why a college must prepare you to the real world. Isn't it your job to discover the real world? I think it's cool while in college you still believe in the bright side of the society with Quaker values and carry it on to your work place. They do have career planning center and I think one just needs to reach out more.Greensboro sucks, the mall sucks…but UNCG, a big University next to guilford is somewhat interesting…;has interesting restaurant.Basically that's it. I'm not a hippie nor a left wing; I don't wear pajamas to class and people call me classy and tell me that should drink wine not beer. However I still enjoy this school in every aspect, I like to be shocked and have this Wow moment…
