LSU is truly in a league of its own. It's fantastic to walk around a school that truly takes pride in itself—we really BLEED purple and gold.As for the mass communication department, it is absolutely fantastic. The professors are knowledgeable and most are retired or still working in the industry. There are tons of opportunities to get involved and doing so really helps out by both giving you experience and letting you get to know instructors on a really personal level. There is a service for practically anything you need—disability, career, greek, traffic, etc.. And if you have a problem with something, going through the chain of command really pays off. Surprisingly, its really easy to make a difference here on campus, it just takes a little initiative. And there is an organization for everyone! It's really important to get involved because its such a big campus, but doing so allows you to truly make it smaller.. We have roughly 30,000 and I see someone I know every time I step onto campus.Football season is crazy! People set up their tailgates days in advance and on gameday you can hardly walk.. Yes, its crowded, but the atmosphere is so amazing you don't even notice.Long story short, its a great school, and pretty easy to fall into. Baton Rouge is not bad either—you use pretty much only 4 streets and they're all really close, so you don't use much gas. There are quite a few bars and you can get into pretty much all of them by the time you're 19. If you're only 18, don't worry, there are 3 or 4 you can get into and most of them aren't so bad.
