FMU provides a quality education at a great price. I won't be in debt for the rest of my life and will have the level of education necessary not only for earning power, but for basic survival in this century.

I am constantly in awe of students, like those on this site, who are embittered and feel it necessary to "squeak". If you were not happy at FMU, you had the opportunity to transfer every semester. Thus, it is YOUR responsibility, not the administration's, not the faculty's, and certainly not the staff's, to get the quality of education you think you deserve. I found the professor's at FMU to be friendly and willing to hold discussions outside the classroom. My numerous vists to their offices (probably a burden, but they did not me feel as such) provided me extra readings, more work, and a challenge. Unfortunately, like two other previous colleges I attended before graduating from FMU, I was surrounded by students who felt that it was the PROFESSOR'S job to open their brains and pour the knowledge in. Thus, those of us who wanted the challenge saught it. Those that didn't…well, they flunked out or graduated with a low GPA and that is why they are whining on this website.

I am also flabberagasted that the students on this website think the administration has the TIME or ENERGY to "fake" the positive comments. I would worry just as much as other universities being competitive and writing faux negative comments. It is just nuts. There is NO conspiracy here guys and gals, just embittered individuals who think that we are a socialist regime and should be handing out diplomas to people who simply attend class. Go to Bennington College you morons! You can study the "Social Construction of Silence" and get your degree.

In summary, the value of a higher education to the market place is to filter or label students for potential employers. This is especially true of the most prestigious schools, who go to great lengths to skim off the top and perpetuate the myth that somehow their educational process is far superior to other schools. If we let the top 1% of students every year read their text books at home rather than attend class, they would likely go on to become productive, well paid members of society. Smart, ambitious people tend to do well, regardless if they attend college. Acting as an employment filter for higher salaries says little about the quality of the education provided. Perpetuating this myth puts a large burden on our economy as the filtering process becomes ever more expensive and our productivity in providing a higher education continues its freefall.
