Major: Fine Arts - Painting/Sculpture/Photography/etc (This Major's Salary over time)
This college (AIFL) is nothing but a gigantic rip-off. It is impossible to get a staff member to return a call. I felt like I was grossly overpaying for the quality of education I recieved. I was forced to drop out midway due to my financial situation and since have been unable to continue my degree but I would not continue it here. The only teacher worth my time was Kathleen Colussy. If you ever are fortunate enough to get her, bust your butt for her and you'll reap the rewards! While i did have a couple other knowledgeable professors (Pivetta,Ivanova) I felt like I was better educated then most of them as far as english, spelling and grammar. And I also felt as though I was being rushed thru my key classes that I needed most to pursue my career and when I tried to ask for help, they were not understanding, simply told me to study harder,I pay you alot of of money,i'm here on loans, not a trust fund and you can't sit down for an extra few minutes to explain patternmaking to me?!! I was extremely dissatisfied with the unorganization of the staff, when a teacher was out sick, the sub barely knew the curriculum so two weeks of a very important class were wasted with a attitude. If colleges gave refunds i would demand one.The so-called fashion shows were a complete waste of time,I attended one and due in part to student laziness and part whatever else, the clothes turned out looking like unfinished, hastily pinned together at the last second pieces of rags that i would rather die then send down a runway.I take pride in my work and it does not seem to me like AIFL takes pride in their level of education that they charge so much for or the students that they graduate. It strikes me as a McDonalds of education, get em in take their money and get em out as fast as possible or if possible have them repeat it so we make even more money.Bottom line,Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale is NOT WORTH IT
