Wheaton had a great impact on me; although at the time I did not feel I fit in. I felt somewhat rebellious of the school initially, but I believe you can find all "kinds" (whatever that means!) of people at any school.

I found lifelong friends and met individuals who were comfortable with themselves already at 19. Their conversations were already focused on how they hoped to have a positive impact on the world - at that point, I was still lagging behind, spending an inordinate amount of my time and energy thinking about myself in an unproductive way.

I know it was 6 years ago, but I am looking to transfer in the Fall to Wheaton College's Biology program from my community college in New York! I would like to know what you thought of the biology program and what you did after Wheaton. Did you find that there was a stigma in the scientific community against you for going here, or was that mostly not considered? What do you think about most students' personal accounts on this website about Wheaton not being challenging enough to open students to new ideas? I am looking to go into the research field, so academics are very important to me.
