Despte the general consensus of some hat Univ. of Phoenix has a sub standard peception is not in line with the fact that any college that achieves ss many accreditations and pragamatic accreditations as Univ. of Phoenix has is hardly sub standard. I have read reviews in reference to top tier collges in which the perception is quite different than what actually happens. Students say that good grades are easy to obtain; unapproachable and uncaring instructors; few standardized tests, instead essay exams or research projects; more emphasis placed on generating revenue rather than generating student excellence; poor or lacking administrative quality, etc. Top tier colleges in particular that have attempted to impove the quality of education have even adopted Univ. of Phoenix's method of the learning team concept, with small classes and close interaction among students and faculty. Univ. of Phoenix of Phoenix, Arizona was created with the general idea of providing advanced educatioal opportunities for working and professional adults who would feel out of place in colleges that are suited for people under 30 years of age. These younger fresh out of high school or community collge students do not possess the professional experiece as do most Univ. of Phoenix students have and are unable to interact in a professional and experienced manner. Univ. of Phoenix's online program has even rated among the top 20 online college programs worldwide, and is listed as the top college designated for working adult professionals. So I would hardly consider Univ. of Phoenix substandard.
