Major: Design Arts - Industrial Design/Graphic Design/etc (This Major's Salary over time)
I attended SMSU (MSU) in 1992 majoring in Graphic Design. The staff was outstanding and a few of my professors are still there. My junior year, I decided to go to Pratt Institute, a New York City that specializes in Art & Design. The higher quality of the MSU's tools, resource, faculty and administration over Pratt was very noticeable. MSU was safe, socially engaging and 1/20th the cost; far superior to the New York school. The only thing the big city school had over MSU was its proximity to the city, the number of job opportunities and name recognition. Im still not sure that I would have stayed at MSU for my degree but it was definitely a great place to get a well-rounded, high-quality education while paying a low tuition (especially for in-state students). I used it as a jumping off point where I finished my general curriculum credits and moved on to a specialized school.
