A
lot of people are opposed to PBA on two grounds:
1. Rules on campus: If you want these things really
bad, go elsewhere. PBA has decided to keep some (relatively
liberal) rules to foster academic growth and the Christian spirit.
If you want to party all day long, then go
to FSU.
2. Academics: I don't know as much about
the other schools, but the professors in Arts & Sciences
are certainly very intelligent and well-respected. I think PBA is
one of those places that doesn't have a name like
Harvard or Yale, but can offer a more reasonable education.
If all you care about is a name on your
degree that will get you a job, PBA may not
be for you. PBA doesn't have a well-established name like
Harvard, but offers a more reasonable education. The History department,
for example, does not contain any Marxists or conspiracy theorists.
Many of the northeastern schools do, though. At PBA (or
really anywhere), you must be involved to get your education.
Plus, the campus is beautiful and a mile from the
beach.
