Grinnell is a wonderful college and a great place to expand your horizons and grow as a student and as a young-adult becoming an adult with real responsibilities. That being said, don't come to Grinnell if you're looking for wild parties every night of the week and minimal work. At Grinnell, we work our asses off during the week, but we also know how to have a good time on the weekends. Not just partying-wise—some of my most memorable memories included tree climbing followed by star gazing in the middle of a cornfield, finger painting and balloon study breaks, campus bonding 3 am pancakes during finals week, mid-week Disney sing-a-longs, and other such random fun. We have our own fair share of wild parties, but the great thing about this place is that you have the choice to be as involved in the party scene as you want to be. And if you don't want to be involved in it at all, there are enough and more people and activities to turn to. In terms of the academics, professors are wonderful and SO approachable and classes really do make you think and reasses your own values and opinions. The workload is tough, but manageable if you know how to balance your social life and academics. People are really friendly and non-judgmental for the most part. Grinnell is a place where you can make your dreams come true—the resources we have here are phenomenal and our endowment certainly helps in making whatever you want to do a reality.
