Im going to go ahead and break this university down.SOCIAL LIFE-Amazing. The friends I made here will last me a lifetime. I felt nervous coming from downingtown, PA and not knowing anybody, but my first weekend here I became so close to the people in my building, and its not like you are only friends with the people in your building, I have made friends with people in other buildings. I was pretty shy in high school, but coming to college definatley made me meet a lot of great people. If you do not make friends here, then you might as well be locked up in your dorm the whole time. The school is fairly small but gowing o it seems like your entire class kinda knows each other. The people I have met that tranfser from saisbury dont hate it it is usually because of financial or academic reasons. As for the parties, this school knows how to do it, but so does every other college in the nation, so I am not going to go into too much detail about it.SURROUNDING CITY-Not so great. Just as long as you stay south of the river then you will be fine, just do not walk by yourself. Coming from me, a very petite girl, I felt like i needed to be with a group of friends at all times at night. just do not walk alone at night. As for the city there is nothing to do, there are a few good bars, but those are only good for thurday nights. There are perks to the location, the beach is only thirty minutes away, which a lot of people do, so its not like everyone stays in their dorm hung over.CAMPUS LIFE-During the day after classes are done there will always be people in the quad playing football or tanning or playing volleyball, the students actually like to go outside which helps to relieve some stress from classes. There will definatley be a club that suits to your interests, although I have not joined one yet, I am considering club field hockey. There are a lot more clubs and they are not huge so you will meet everyone and become good friends with them.Academics-The classes are what you make of them, you can study and try hard in them or slack off, it all depends on how serious you are about college. The teachers are cool as long as you go on rate my professor before you apply for classes then you should be fine. The good things about the academics is that this schools reputation is getting better and better so new incoming students will graduate four years from now with a better academic reputation. So all in all this school is very balanced, with things to do and good academics, I have never regretted choosing this school.
