I am currently attending Nyack College as a Senior, so i've been here for 3 years. i transferred from another college, and seriously considered another college before attending Nyack so i believe i've been around enough to offer a fair review.

one of the biggest complaints i have heard regarding Nyack is how "religious" it is. to that i have to remind the individual that this is a Christian Bible school, and if they didn't realize that when they applied and sent in all their money, they have some issues. there are some rather un-needed rules such as chapel being required, but like i said, if you didn't know that before you applied, you obviously don't care that much about college to begin with.

the students are extremely friendly, making friends is very easy, mostly due to how diverse the school is. a huge varity of cultures are represented at Nyack, and all sorts of personalities. even though it's a smaller school, mabye 1200+, it's tons of fun to make friends.

while the college itself doesn't have very good activities, there's always something to do in the area. the palisades mall, which i believe is the 3rd largest mall in America, is within walking distance, the Hudson river can be seen from the college, and New York City is a simple bus ride away.

Academically, Nyack isn't the most advanced school out there, but the professors are all extremely knowledgeable about their subjects, and if a student wishes to advance themselves, it is easy to do, it just takes initiative. as far as being challenged though, with the exception of music performance and music business, any bible/theology major or a pastoral degree, the other degrees aren't very challenging on their own. the Math department actually only has 1 professor except for when they higher a part-timer

my favorite part of Nyack is their staff, both faculty (professors) and full time staff (office workers). both groups are extremely patient and kind. students are given a lot of personal attention, and while the school is sometimes a bit disorganized, i dare anyone to show me a college that isn't

the price for the college is a bummer, i'm spending 9 thousand a year after scholarships and loans, but i think its worth it; i've thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Nyack thus far, and i am sure will enjoy my last year coming up. i highly recommend this school to those looking for a positive experience with great people, as long as you don't mind when employers have never heard of your school.
