Well, I'm almost done with my first semester of college, and its definitely not how I thought it would be. This isn't necessarily a bad thing! I generally like Regis; there are of course, things I like and dislike about it. I suppose I should go to the positive things first!

POSITIVE:

  • Students are generally a friendly a bunch and since its a rather small campus, you'll see them regularly. Its nice to not have to seek them out through a sea of faces. Plus, everyone is so chill, there is absolutely no competition academic wise.
  • Although this a Catholic university, the religious aspects are not forced on you in any way. You aren't required to go to church or anything like that. However, you do have to take some religion or philosophy classes.
  • The classes are small, and the professors are wonderful. They don't want you to fail and encourage you to see them if you have any trouble at all. You aren't a number at all at Regis; they really do care about you and your well being.
  • Registration for classes is so easy! I didn't have any problems at all getting the classes i wanted.
  • Colorado itself is just awesome, there is always something to do if your out and about! Boulder is only a half an hour away, Downtown Denver is maybe a 10 minute drive, and there are some National Parks about an hour away. If your big into the skiing scene, the slopes are also only an hour away. The snow is especially fun if your from the South like me. :)
  • The campus is BEAUTIFUL. I love the wide open spaces and pretty trees, it feels like a giant backyard :D
  • I never feel unsafe on campus.
  • When you can find one…THE PARTIES. They are usually off campus, so you have to hunt one down if your in the mood to party.
  • Now…on to the negative…

  • The food is AWFUL. But then again, this comes with college…rarely is the food ever a symphony of flavor. Stay away from the pizza, your stomach will hurt for hours.
  • There is really nothing to do on campus. AT ALL. I advise you to take your car up here with you or you'll lose your mind. Most freshmen don't have their car, but if you can…do it.
  • The campus is dead on weekends. COMPLETELY dead.
  • There isn't any school spirit really, and extracurriculars are almost nonexistent. This wasn't a huge disappointment to me but each to their own.
  • Overall, I really like it here. I would recommend coming here if your looking for a small, chill school!
