It is not as if you cannot come here and have a lukewarm experience. Some faculty are helpful. I pity a handful of them as much as I do many of my fellow students, frankly. Much of the problem revolves around the poor attitudes of the administration and support staff, in general. Again, in all fairness, there are a handful of nice, helpful individuals. The old proverb about one apple being able to spoil the whole bunch really rings true in this case. One must question why SOOOOOOOO many students would not choose to return to UIS. Do yourself a really big favor. Do not give this university a second look. Find a university that is rated B+ or greater overall and do your homework from there. {Pun Intended} You only go to college once. Do not entangle yourself in the red tape so commonly associated with UIS! It is a trap. Consider yourself warned. My favorite view of this university is going to be when I am looking in my rear view mirror heading off to grad school! Did I mention that I was a transfer student that only took about half of my undergrad credits through UIS? Now imagine the angst of some poor sucker who did all four years in the armpit of Illinois.
