CUH is a Marianist school looking to provide an excellent education to students from all over the globe. It is located on the beautiful isle of Oahu in the Hawaiian archipelago. Nestled on the slopes of Saint Louis heights, it provides a beautiful view on the world renowned Natural landmark Diamond Head, tourist haven Waikiki, and Honolulu's Downtown. The campus is small but it requires a good amount of physical exercise to get around. Nevertheless the personal relationships between students and professors help tremendously with academics and off campus opportunities to learn and grow. The dormitories are not for everyone, but they provide a good experience of community and responsibilty. The University's location provides easy access to public transportation, supermarkets, beaches, and beautiful hikes up on the Ko'olau ridges. The cost of living in "Paradise" can be expensive but everything comes at a price. I believe it's a fair trade-of coming from a place with season's and receiving nearly immaculate sunshine on a daily basis. Living on an island can also be a drastic experience and may be followed by "Island Fever", but once you settle and learn to appreciate the beautiful environment there won't be all too many reasons for somebody to want to leave. Chaminade is a small school that can provide you with opportunies for the future, their classes aren't too challenging which enables you to enjoy the beach more often than not, and it's a great place to learn about different cultures and meet new people from all over the world.
