To start off, the faculty have been pretty good for the most part. Some of them are really helpful while others have been disarray. Although, I started back in the fall of 2005 when the university has been at the peak. Although, throughout the years while I was over here, it has been slumping eversince.

Again, there is hardly nothing much to do here in Natchitoches because the only thing that ever is Wal Mart, downtown which is Front Street (very small version of the french quarter from New Orleans), crappy night clubs, and etc.

What really bothers me about this university is that it is being mostly controlled by greek fraternities and sororities. They are not very friendly, and they seem like they have all of the privilage ever. I remember when it came down to the lady of the bracelet pageant, it is always a girl who was in Tri Sigma or Phi Mu who would ever get the crown. It is never a level headed individual who would recieved the award.

Also, the way how things are runned when it comes to the administration and staff is pretty much of a problem. For such a small school, it takes weeks or months to get the finanicial aid awards straight, and their is always an issue when it comes to computer and internet.

The new dorms such as Unversity place 2 has been a great dissappointment becuase the were new when they first opened up. I remember that when I came into the dorm for the first time in my senior year, I went in and there was still trash and plaster hidden up in the cabinets still and more trash was up in the floor still. I sort of think to myself, "do these people have everything together" or "is this the way how they treat students out here, like garbage"? Also, the cafeteria is not really that great, it is very much disgusting and when you eat breakfast, I swear wait till twenty minutes and youll be searching for a restroom before your class starts.

Also, another thing that really dissappointed me when I was here was the athletic department over here, especially this year. The athletics have been pretty good when I was a senior, but this year in the school year 2009 - 2010 has been very depressing. I mean football was not as great as it used to be when I was a freshman or sophmore year. They tried to act cute and the winded up loosing every single game. I even remember that even for Homecoming it was depressing, we lost against Texas State, a team that we used to win before this year. They even lost the SFA game at the very end of the season, while hardly no one in the stands were there.Also basketball was extremely dissappointing this year, because they miss almost all of the foul shots ever. The magic of the demon basketball team back in the spring of 2006 was not there anymore. I remember that I used to cheer on and I was part of the Prather Punks back when I was a freshman cheering on these guys because they were great. I mean the atmosphere in my freshman year was pretty much the best time in my life. Now everything has gone down to the tiolet. Seriously. This year, I hate to say this, but the athletic departments must be wearing paper bags on thier heads, cuz it was that bad.

Also, another thing, I have to say, there is hardly nothing to do especially on the weekends. Most people here on this campus often leave on the weekends, so I would say that it is often a suitcase college. I would recommend to go off to either to bigger schools like ULL, LA TEch, LSU or McNeese to do some stuff. Northwestern State is pretty much boring for the most part when it comes to weekends.
