ASHINGTON University in St.  Louis, founded in 1853, is a private, comprehensive institution.  Programs are offered through the College of Arts and Sciences and the Schools of Architecture, Art, Business Administration, and Engineering and Applied Science.  Its 169-acre main campus is located in St.  Louis.
