I've been in Hunter for a year and although not a long time, I feel as if I won't be enjoying the rest of my time here. I came acknowledging the negative comments on this site and tried my best to defy them. I tried to join groups, I tried to be social in public areas, I tried to maintain communications with advisors, etc. For the most part, my effort failed. Most students have their own cliques and sometimes you just get that stare or feeling that you don't belong. It's pretty hard to make friends here if you are not social or if you didn't come in with a group of friends or people you know. Most students keep to themselves and seem to be miserable as well. Hunter needs to stop over-registering students, needs more funding, and needs to just clean up their act if they want to be seen as a prestigious and competitive albeit affordable school.
