My four years here were incrediblly important for me. I came from a "group school" in the Pacific Northwest where a number of parents in the arts home schooled their children together. I was used to and expected at college (a) being challenged; (b) being seen as a co-laborer in educational pursuit, not some ass hole kid; (c) being allowed to be whatever I wanted to be as long as I didn't hurt others. I did not want some right wing repression OR some psuedo liberal shit that was just as or even more repressive.

Vassar was good to me. I could challenge whatever was put forward as long as I made my case (fair enough). I could dress the way I wanted (basically majorly slutty). I could ask for help and get it. I could look ahead to see what my career would demand and ask professors to help me get there (and find nearly all would enthusiastically help). So many of the guys were gay (hmm .. in our group school majorly slutty got really good response … oh well, some of the men were straight).

So come visit here. Consider this school!
