I have to jump in to give a great review for UT. I am not a student but a parent. My son would never take the time to do this but he expresses to me all the time how much he loves UT. I also am confident most parents use this as much as students as they make a very important decision where their child goes to school as we did. My son is not from the NE, he is from FL and lives on campus. He has made great friends for life. He finds the campus the perfect size for getting to class,cafeteria,activities+ He loves the food,loves the weather, thinks the teachers are great and is learning without struggling. He was thrown in first semester into internships where he learned immediately the major he had chosen was not for him. No waist of time here, it is hands on. Small classes,beautiful campus,intramurals. It is a beautiful waterfront city with tons of activities. He bikes down Bayshore Blvd, one of the best venues there is. There absolutely are homeless and crime around the area. Just don't walk from a bar alone late at night and you are fine. He has been to Busch Gardens,Clearwater Beach, Universal Studios,Ray games,Lightning Hockey. He is not a big club scene guy but has enjoyed Ybor,Channelside & S Tampa. He would have been so bored in some hick "college town" He does miss the energy of not having a football team. Everything else makes up for it though. He has academic scholarships as many other students do so it is not just a rich kid school. This was great value for our dollar!
