If you are considering going to ACU, reconsider your priorities. Is being in the city important to you? do you really want to go to chapel every day? do you want to "party"? questions you need to ask yourself. Questions that I thought weren't that important when I decided to go to ACU. First of all, Abilene is the most boring city I've been in, but that is also relative. There's a lot of people from the middle of no where that think that Abilene is huge. I came from the Dallas/Fortworth area so this place is a desert to me. Secondly, do you really want to have church and Jesus shoved in your face everyday? I'm a huge Christian, but also a major advocate of not shoving it in peoples faces. They force you to go to chaple almost everyday. The next thing is night life/ weekend. There is really only one bar that everyone goes to on Thursday, but that gets old after awhile (plus its a country bar). Besides that during the week days there is absolutely nothing to do.. you find yourself going to the library for fun because thats the only thing open.As for weekends it's even worse. Literally almost everyone goes home.. so you either go home too or get stuck on an empty campus. On a different note, the people I met are really friendly. Just make sure you know what you want and what youre getting before you make a choice.
