Alabama A&M University is a horrible learning instituition. At the moment, this school has trustees stealing thousands of dollars from the students despite the protest the students pulled in September 2010. Governor Bentley had a meeting with the trustee inwhich 3 out of the 4 of the trustees walked out. This school is not how it was in the 1960s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000-2005. Alumni, I hate to break it to you but this school is a mess. Now! On to the academic part…the faculty are highly unprofessional to make it simple they don't give a damn about the students at all point BLANK. Greeks! If you want to be apart of Gamma Mu AKA, you have to know the girls in charge not the AKA's who are nobodies bc their voice & vote will not count. If you want to be apart of Delta Delta chapter of DST, you better be on the underground line prior to the rush/interest meeting bc Delta Delta only takes the weak and humble basically thirst type girls, ZphiB and SGRho are the only sororities on campus that choose girls on the merits, reputation and hard work. To all the young ladies coming into Alabama A&M as a freshman or transfer student please do not come into this university with the only goal to go greek esp into AKA or DST bc 9 times out of 10 you will end up in dissappointment. Go to a white college to pledge and then transfer into a HBCU bc at least u will have ur membership. All of the fraternities such as Omega Psi Phi and Phi Beta Sigma and Alpha Phi Alpha at Alabama A&M University are primarily underground and Kappa Alpha Psi is a joke. This school is not serious at all go to another HBCU or University for that matter and enjoy your college experience and get your diploma. Alabama A&M will take your money and waste your time the retention rate for graduation is soo low bc many students up and leave or simply drop out of school. The dorms are horrible and Normal Hills the apt complex is expensive and is going to be even more expensive in the Fall 2011 bc of the Wellness Center which is right next to the apartments. Normal Hills, West dormitory, Foster dormitory, and all the other dorms are all the same staffed by unorganized people who care more about their lunch break then they do about you. If you receive a scholarship for academics or athletics give it back and go to another school.
